I started training and competing in Trail and Mountain Ultramarathons in 2012, combining two of my great passions. I remember thinking that 50 miles in the mountains was not possible for me at the time and I wasn't sure how to prepare for it. This theme continued through increasing distances and my first 100 miler was a real challenge. 10 years later, I've completed a number of hard ultramarathons including the iconic UTMB and the notoriously brutal 268 mile Winter Spine race, my biggest challenge to date
For me, it's been a great journey of self discovery which I can share with you, pointing you in the right direction, whether it be your first ultramarathon, stepping up to 100 miles or preparing for a multi-day non stop race like the Spine.
There are so many different facets to long distance races in the hills and mountains, moving throught the night in all weather. Some of the most important aspects include choosing and testing the right clothing & equipment; nutrition & hydration; navigation; training schedules and mental preparation.
My experience as a winter mountaineer and expedition leader along with my academic background as a Dr of Biology suit me perfectly to advise and train you to achieve whatever your running goal may be: no coaching challenge is too great!
